DIX AL

The tongues are manufactured from Swedish steel at a strength of 2000 N/mm2 with a
tolerance of T3, ground to an accuracy within -20 cents from the base tone.  These tongues are manually riveted onto reed plates made from AL sheets at a hardness of 160HB.   The air gaps of the reed plates are cut using electro-erosive technology with an accuracy in the hundredths of a millimeter.  The surface of the plates is finely ground to achieve exact flatness.  The advantage of these reeds is a lower mass while maintaining the original tone.
